Why we prototype combat before art lock
At Blionc Digital we start combat loops on greybox assets so tuning decisions are not masked by shader polish. Teams that lock art early often discover readability issues only after expensive rework.
Our Combat Loop Prototyping cohort uses a daily playtest rubric. Mentors log frame data, not opinions, so students see when a dodge window is fair versus merely flashy.
This does not mean art is ignored. It means art integration follows a signed-off loop spec. Students graduate with a design log that future collaborators can trust.
If you are joining a cohort, bring a prototype or jam build. We will map which module accelerates your current milestone.
